Featuring: Accessories, Jewelry, and Crochet

Role: Member since 2008

Wearable and functional fiber art, uptwirped reconstructed vintage jewelry, gemstone adornments.

Annie has been an environmental and animal advocate for many years. It began early on. She and her husband live in a rural area, which unfortunately can mean there are homeless animals wandering from time to time. That's how they came to have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 3 hermit crabs, permanently. They have also provided foster care for abandoned dogs. They are also benefactors of a nature preserve adjacent to their property and they fiercely protect the wild animals that live in and around the area. The only down side is that they wish they could do more.

Annie remains involved with the Humane Societies of Southern Indiana and Kentucky. She continues to be an activist, and has seen recent success in important changes being made in horse racing to ensure the welfare and protection of thoroughbreds.

Bewilderknits is inspired by small, bewildering elements of nature. In it, you will find many cozy knitted items - primarily scarves, but also housewares like throw pillows and hair accessories or pins made of felted recycled sweaters. Lush fibers from sustainable sources are abundantly used. The styles range from colors that knock your socks off to subtle, sophisticated accessories that are simply graceful.

A portion of the shop donates 100% of proceeds to Altered Tails, a local neighborhood low-cost spay and neuter clinic, where homeless strays can be trapped, neutered and released by their empathetic human neighbors. This line is called the Kittyknitter Box.

Featuring: Accessories (silk scarves, unique cotton fabrics, beadwork) and Jewelry
Role: Member since 2008

Dante's Spirit is your place for unique hand dyed 100% silk scarves- many OOAK, hand dyed 100% cotton fabrics for quilting and clothing, unique, OOAK beadwork pieces, and even chainmaille jewelry.

I recently adopted an Akita puppy, Caena Kamikaze Ryu, from Heart of Dixie Akita Rescue, after the loss of my beloved Akita, Dante-Inu, at the age of 14.5 years.

In Dante's name, my hand dyed scarves were created in limited edition Runs, with 50% of the proceeds donated to Akita Rescue. To date, nearly $500.00 has been raised. I also occasionally drive Rescue Transports for various animal rescues when the transport run comes through my area. I have evaluated an Akita in my local shelter and aided in her going to Rescue and subsequently on to a forever home fairly quickly (she was a real sweetheart!).

My two cats, Max and Aries, are both Rescues- Max from a Shelter, Aries from abuse and the streets. Rue, my Rex rabbit, was a foster who ended up becoming a member of the family. I have rehomed several strays that had been abandoned by neighbors upon moving out. One, Jett, had had his entire tail ripped off violently, and needed the remaining stub amputated, at my expense, and he then went to rescue where he was placed in a loving home where he is now the center of attention.

This store sells poet hats....What is a poet hat?
A "poet hat" is a unique, one-of-a-kind, collage-inspired, handmade hat by said artist. I am the originator of this fashion statement.  These Poet Hats are all handmade, knit, with various materials. Some stitching may be visible, some have rayon danglings, some are knotted. These are all correct variations and what makes your particular hat unique.

Renea has a 2-year old cat named Dashy and a 5-month old puppy named Noah. Noah is from the Humane Society and Dashy was a stray.  She has been a member of The Humane Society since 1997 and an EFA member since 2009.

She has a black cat called Kass (which means Cat in Estonian). He lives with her parents at the moment, because UK laws to bring pets in the country are really tight, but she misses him and hopes to bring him over one day. Recently, after seeing a program about gorillas and reading about how sheep are treated in some parts of the world, she decided to start giving money to gorilla charities and be proud of knitting with acrylic yarn.
