Store: Camille's Studio & Comfy Collars (camillesstudio) Camille's Studio & Comfy Collars sells designer dog and cat collars for the "fashion forward" pet. Comfy Collars are made from the latest fashion fabric in a design created to be especially comfortable for the pet that hates to wear a collar. Made from from cruelty free materials including first quality 100% cotton designer fabric, Comfy Collars are popular with fashion forward dogs and doggie fashionistas world- wide! Camille's Studio was originally created to sell hand-made art quilts. The adoption of a little Shih Tzu, Charlie the Adorable, changed the focus of the store. Charlie had been kept chained in a back yard for the first part of his life and the chain had grown into his neck and had to be surgically removed. A search for a collar that this little dog could tolerate was unsuccessful. As a quilter and quilt designer, Charlie's adoptive Mom a/k/a Camille, experimented with various collar designs until one was found which gave a comfortable fit and also looked great. Soon Charlie's friends and even complete strangers were clamoring for Comfy Collars of their own! Charlie was soon joined by Lola, also a little Shih Tzu, who was rescued from an horrific puppy mill situation. She did not know how to walk on grass, go down stairs or even eat and drink from a bowl. Lola has gone from a shivering, frightened little girl to a confident fashion diva who loves the admiration of her adoring fans. A portion of the proceeds of Comfy Collars is spent on materials to make dog and cat collars for Pets and People, a non-profit, no-kill shelter that rescues animals from kill shelters on their execution day. In 2007, Pets and People found loving homes for over 1,800 dogs and cats. The mission of Comfy Collars is to make high quality dog and cat collars that are comfortable and fun to wear for awesome pets world over! Charity of Choice: Pets and People

Store: Crazy
About Catnip (crazyaboutcatnip) Crazy About Catnip is a shop that sells original and handmade cat toys. All toys are made with 100% cotton fabric, 100% organic catnip, and are safe and made with love. In addition to toys, patterns, kits, and supplies can also be purchased. The toys in this shop are fun and colorful, sometimes even a little crazy. Each toy is tested by the Vice President of product research, Sweetie, the cat. All toys are made on the day of purchase to ensure freshness when they arrive for your little one. You can choose from the fabric and felt charts displayed on the listing to have your toy custom made. Not sure what your fabric and felt choices will look like, not a problem, Crazy About Catnip cares about you, all you need to do is ask, and they will whip one up, and send you a picture before you make the purchase. 10% of all profits goes to the Bergen County Animal Shelter at Teterboro, NJ. Or if you want, they will donate a toy instead. Sweetie, the cat, was discovered in a box outside the Teterboro Animal Shelter with three other cats, back in 2006. For six weeks she lived in a cage in a large room with about 50 other cages of cats, until Laura came along. Sweetie was 7 years old, which made adoption difficult. Everyone wants the kittens and puppies, so adults usually spend more time at the shelter. When Sweetie was brought home, she would sleep with a mouse toy craddled
in her arms. It was like a child holding a security blanket. Although
she doesn't do that anymore, The toy seemed to help her with the
transition that was taking place in her life. Charity of Choice: Bergen County Animal Shelter

Store: Scrivener's Retreat (parttimelover82) I have six ferrets, so my store caters to the needs of a ferret. Many knowledgeable owners feed their babies a natural diet of raw meaty bones, animal organs, and whole prey, either prekilled or alive. Practices like this extend the short lives these little blessings in small packages. My store sells stuffed items that are food to a naturally-fed ferret, cat, or dog. I have stuffed steaks, chicken wings, legs, hearts, and prey items like baby chickens, rabbits, rats, quail, etc. I also have toys for hoomans including stuffed ferrets, stuffed penguins, and I currently have some bedding sets for ferrets' cages. About three years ago, my pet mouse died, and I had been wanting a ferret, so I went to my local shelter, the Greater Chicago Ferret Association and adopted Bartleby. About a month went by, and I met a man with ferrets of his own. After a few months of being friends and getting our ferrets together to play, we started dating. Now his ferrets are mine, and we live together in Vegas with six ferrets who rule the house. All of our pets were adopted, and we are members of several ferret forums trying to spread the word about proper ferret care & nutrition. I have also worked at PetSmart for 2 years. I no longer work there because it was very hard seeing customers return pets to us, traumatizing the animals they bought, and there is also a lot of death every day when working at a pet store. I didn't want to be part of a company that was responsible for the deaths of pets, even unintentionally. I was a Pet Care Specialist, which means I was trained to teach customers about the proper care of fish, reptiles, birds, and small pets. Charities of Choice: SPCA, any ferret shelter

Store: RachelsPETdesigns (rachelspetdesigns) Rachel uses her imagination to create everything PETS. Pets should be adored, worshipped and spoiled and she's there to help you do exactly that! She has fun, colorful, practical, geeky, and even eco-friendly items. Rachel strongly believes pets need emotional and physical stimulation for happy, healthy pets...so do visit her shop when you have a moment and perhaps say "hi"! Rachel has been a pet lover since she took her first breath. Her father has been a strong influence in her fondness and love of nature and animals alike. She grew up on a small hobby farm that consisted of chickens, rabbits, pheasants, cats, and a dog. She'd spend hours watching baby chicks hatch from the incubators, help her dad fill up the feed troughs and also pitch in on cleaning the coops, and bringing in the eggs. Rachel learned to respect the animals and nature around us and hopes to instill the same on her own children. Above all though cats have always been her favorite and has never been without them through her years. She's rescued them from shelters when pawsible and simply loved them as they deserved to be. She's always been the 'petsitting ' neighbor as well...almost a magnet for it. Several times a year she and her husband act as 'pet faeries' and donate needed items anonymously to shelters and/or pet organizations. Over the years they've been able to do more than others, but the point is they tried no matter how tough times were. If you want to meet her current kitties, simply visit her pet website for more. Specializing in eco-friendly rain coats for dogs that owner and designer, Taryn Zychal, makes by hand from trashed umbrellas and Eco-fi felt. "As a product designer, I try to take a more modern approach to the trash as a material source; it's in my nature to make it look good, but I want to be able to look at a finished product and not know that it was ever in a garbage can." Recycling Zychal plans to expand into a whole line of vegan eco-centric products including aromatherapy soy candles, reusable coffee cup cozys and possibly even a series of homemade vegan treats! For right now, you can help Recycling Zychal help the planet by sending them your broken umbrella at no cost to you. Message for details! Growing up in Scranton Pennsylvania, Taryn Zychal, was always surrounded by pets. "I can't remember a time in my life when we didn't have animals in my house", she said. After moving to Philadelphia to attend the Art Institute of Philadelphia, she lasted about 3 weeks in the dorms without having a pet; it started off with one fish, then a cat, then a pug dog and before she knew it, she had 3 pugs, a cat and about 50 fish in two tanks (and a few "wild city mice" too). In 2008, Taryn and her fiance Aaron became vegans after reading the book Skinny Bitch and their affinity for the animal kingdom blossomed even further when Taryn had gotten the idea to found Recycling Zychal. Taryn, Aaron, their 3 pugs (2 of whom can be seen modeling rain coats on her site), cat and 50 fish all live happily in Philadelphia. Charity of Choice: HSUS

Store: Retro Animals (retroanimals) Retro Animals sells fashionable and mostly retro items including (but not limited to) cat collars, cat nip toys, dog collars, and more. Their main focus will be cat items. They noticed that in their surroundings that cats did not have really nice and bright collars, so it became their goal to make cute and fun collars for their feline friends. Jennifer is a fun and creative gal that loves to spend time with her animals. Both at work at a local animal shelter (as a graphic designer) and at home with her two cats. Both of her cats were adopted. One is 13 years old and her name is Mercedes, the other is almost 3 and her name is Bear. Jennifer spends her days photographing animals, placing the "pet picks" in newspapers, websites and such. One of her goals is to get the animals noticed. She has noticed that sometimes black cats in particular get passed over for more colorful cats, so her goal is to increase their visibility. One of the ways she strives to do that is by getting them in bright colorful collars. She would like to accomplish that by donating one of her bright, retro collars for every cat collar sold on her site to the shelter so they can put them on cats that need to get noticed. Store: Scampering Scotties (scamperingscotties) Scampering Scotties sells cute, unique and most of all AFFORDABLE dog collars. These collars are made with fun (and often whimsical) ribbons sewn onto lightweight nylon webbing. The owner works in a Pet Boutique and knows how expensive dog collars can be, forcing people to buy the not-so-stylish collars from larger chain stores. The concept of the shop is to bring collars that are stylish and quirky to all pet owners at a price that anyone can afford. The collars can be custom made to fit any dog and the shop is more than willing to do so if it would mean having one more dog in the world feel proud when they trot down the street! As the website states these are the collars that all dogs are barking about! Sarah, the owner of Scampering Scotties, is proudly owned by two lively
Scottish terriers, Brodie and Caolin. When they were younger she tried
to dress them in clothes but they were unhappy with anything that she
picked. So instead, Sarah purchased collar upon collar to compensate
for their unwillingness to comply with clothes. Charity of Choice: Pet Haven Inc of MN |

Store: SpoiledKitty Spoiled Kitty sells handmade vegan friendly and soon eco friendly cat toys, blankets and mats. All Spoiled Kitty items are washable and reusable to save money and the environment. Spoiled Kitty was inspired by my beloved Snowshoe Siamese, Nala, adopted from the Purebred Cat Rescue in the Midwest. Nala was literally minutes from death in a backyard "shelter" when she was rescued along with several Persians who had been dumped by a backyard breeder. Determined to give Nala the best of everything but not happy with the commercial choices of toys/blankets available I started to make my own. After all, cats love yarn right? After seeing how much Nala loved her yarn toys and blankets I started selling them at affordable prices so every kitty can be spoiled. All pets deserve to be loved and well cared for, and I donate money and toys and blankets to the Purebred Rescue so that other rescue kitties can also enjoy safety, good food, warmth and love.
