Our 14 year old heeler "Rockie" is the total inspiration for BarkingDogBlankets. Also in our animal family is a chicken named Snowflake who is 9+ years old. Our dwarf bunny, Sweety Pie went to bunny heaven at the age of 11 yrs. If we could have a pygmy goat and a white duck my animal family would be complete. I believe in the Best FriendsAnimal Society philosophy that "kindness to animals builds a better world for all of us." Ginger is a volunteer at the Hawaiian Humane Society as a dog walker and also (Rockie and Ginger) are a certified therapy dog/owner team - "Team Rockie". Old dogs hold a special place in Ginger's heart.

Laura decided to do some good with her sewing hobby. She opened caninedesign to benefit the Montomery County Humane Society in Silver Spring, MD. Her dog, Colby, is the model of choice. The crazy vizsla stops running long enough to pose for a picture. And a treat of course.

Sarah volunteers at the Iowa City Animal Center and is one of a select group of homes dedicated to providing foster care for kittens birth-12 weeks old throughout the year.  Sarah uses her Etsy store proceeds to directly provide for kittens too young, ill, or non-socialized for adoption.

Pit Bull and Doberman rescues are particularly close to our hearts, and we volunteer for local rescues that support these breed in addition to donating to them.

Tara Guidry's great danes, Leela and Capone, changed her life! Her furkids were adopted from Great Dane rescue of Southeast Texas, and she is now a liaison for GDRST in Louisiana. Proceeds from sold collars go to benefit great danes in rescue at GDRST.

Cari of Heart Felt Wool is an active volunteer at the Oshkosh Area Humane Society and began crafting as a way to raise money for the ever-rising costs of operating a shelter. A total of 15% of sales are donated to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society; these funds are specifically used to purchase whatever items are most needed at the shelter at the time. In addition to fostering small mammals and volunteering at the shelter each week, Cari and her husband have three permanent rabbit companions with whom they share their home. As her rabbits do not enjoy playing with toys, creating catnip toys that will be loved by the pets of other people brings her great joy.

What began as a child bringing home uncounted strays continues today with foster care for abused and unwanted dogs and cats. The latest Chilly Paws model is a nine year old English Setter. Danielle spends her time caring for horses, cats and dogs and the occasional wayward duck.

Dachshunds are of course the main attraction at Chilly Paws. They are President and CEO, and VP in charge of marketing and model search. The Dachshunds also retain majority stock in the company. Danielle retains her title as laborer.
